What It Is

Specialized lens enhancement

Headlight and taillight tinting applies a thin, transparent film directly to your lens covers, darkening them to match your vehicle's aesthetic. The film is engineered to maintain proper light transmission so your headlights and taillights remain fully functional while gaining a customized appearance.

The tint protects your original lenses from UV damage, minor road debris, and oxidation, while giving your vehicle a modern, cohesive look that turns heads.

Custom Concepts Garage tints headlights and taillights for drivers in Mankato, North Mankato and across southern Minnesota, and we'll help you choose a shade that keeps your lights clearly visible.

Why it matters

Custom styling for your lenses

A professionally applied lens film gives your vehicle a custom look and shields your original lenses from UV haze and chips.

Aggressive, custom finish

Darkened lenses give your front and rear end a sleek, modern appearance that complements your vehicle's build.

Pick your shade

A lighter smoke keeps more of your light output; a darker smoke gives a bolder look.

UV and oxidation defense

Protects your original lenses from sun damage, hazing, and the cloudy haze that comes with age.

Lens clarity preserved

Unlike traditional lens replacement, tinting keeps your original lenses intact while adding a refined, darkened look.

Quick installation

Professional application takes hours, not days, so you drive with a finished custom look fast.

Durable, long-lasting finish

Quality film withstands weather, car washes, and road conditions without peeling or fading.

How It Works

Clean, precise application

Proper preparation and careful installation ensure a smooth, seamless tint that lasts.

Lens inspection and prep

Your headlights and taillights are cleaned thoroughly and inspected for any damage before we begin the tinting process.

Custom film cutting

We precisely cut and fit the tint film to match your exact lens shape and size for a clean, seamless appearance.

Application and positioning

The film is carefully applied to your lenses, positioned for even coverage and aligned to match your vehicle's design lines.

Curing and quality check

The film sets and bonds fully, then we inspect the final result to ensure a flawless, professional finish.

FAQ

Headlight and taillight tint questions, answered

Does tinting affect my headlight or taillight brightness?
Yes. Any smoked film cuts some light output, and lighter shades cut less. Minnesota only allows clear, colorless material over headlights and taillights on vehicles driven on public roads, so we'll go over your options before we start.
Can I tint just my headlights, or do I need to do both front and back?
You can tint any combination you prefer. Many customers do both for a unified, cohesive look, but the choice is entirely yours.
How long does headlight and taillight tinting last?
Quality tint film is durable and resists fading, peeling, and UV damage for years, especially with normal car washing and care.
Is headlight and taillight tint legal in Minnesota?
Minnesota law (Minn. Stat. § 169.64, subd. 10) prohibits driving on public roads with any material covering a headlight, taillight or reflector unless it is clear and colorless or original factory equipment. Tinted lens film doesn't meet that rule, so ask us about your options before you book.
